taking a break from it all

We took a mini-vacation this past weekend with the boys and they were in seventh heaven. I am raising two lego maniacs, so a trip to Legoland in Carlsbad, CA was the thing that all their dreams were made of.

The miniature displays were something to see - there were details to uncover everywhere you turned.

Neither of my boys are huge ride fanatics, but we tried out every last ride we could while we were there.

We got some much needed sunshine and recreation. And we had time to celebrate one whole year of being a family doing something none of us will forget.

What a great trip! I had to laugh seeing the adults still holding on with one hand. hee hee!

Ha! We were hoping no one would notice that we had to hold on and the kids didn't! :)

ummm...I'm confused. Is Daniel wearing the Polska sweater and Chris wearing the Division 89sweater??? Are you guys trying to intentionally confuse us?

I'm SO jealous about your trip. We're definitely going to have to do it one day. I'm waiting for my two youngest ones to grow up a little. Right now I can't take them anywhere without complaints of "my legs are hurting" or "I'm tired."

Hey, did you check out the new Lego Board Games?

I'm considering ordering one of these.

Indeed that is Daniel in the Polska gear. The boys got identical Polska sweatshirts while we were in Warsaw and they are a staple in our house. They are so popular around here that my sister-in-law already has dibs on one of them once the boys grow out of them! :)

Family vacation memories in the making/already made. I am so glad to hear you had a great time. We have yet to take a family vacation yet, and I am sooo looking forward to it.
